Accessibility

Support is part of the game, not an extra mode.

The target is WCAG 2.2 AA with a CAST UDL 3.0 lens. The app provides visible text for spoken instructions, keyboard navigation, clear focus, large targets, reduced motion, a high-contrast setting, no forced timing, hints, retries, and semantic representations.

Audio controls

Written instructions remain visible when read-aloud is enabled. Learners can turn read-aloud and feedback effects off independently, then adjust instruction speech and feedback-effect volume separately in Supports. This release has no background music or autoplay audio.

Manual review still matters

Automated axe checks are a supplement. Before a classroom pilot, walk every mechanic with keyboard-only input, a screen reader, zoom/reflow, touch, and switch-style sequential focus. Record device/browser results and known barriers in the release checklist.

Presets

Calm Focus, Emerging Reader, Motor Accessible, Visual Clarity, Independent Practice, and Teacher Guided are setting bundles, not labels or diagnoses. Teachers can override their fields.
